Jesus Christ. That entire diatribe feels like my childhood in a nutshell. How the fuck does that teacher know that woman wasn’t abused as a child, and that she didn’t just trigger the fuck out of her? How does she know she isn’t currently in any abusive relationships where someone talks to her like that all the time? I think it’s an interesting exercise but I don’t think the “I don’t feel sorry for her because she’s white” portion was a good way to end it. From my experience, invalidating someone’s pain because someone else experiences more pain tends to perpetuate oppressive ideas and abuse cycles. :l

Excuse me. Have you considered that this post and your subsequent lengthy posts, in which you interrupt and derail a conversation (mostly) Black women are having to talk about your white feelings and white history, might be triggering as fuck to these women? I really think you don’t get it AT ALL. The exercise is not supposed to be “interesting,” it is supposed to be UPSETTING for white people. That is the GOAL of the exercise and everyone in the room knew what they were there for and signed a notice saying they understood that it would be stressful. The time for this woman to bow out if she couldn’t have handled it would have been when she was asked to sign the notice AND SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN LUCKY BECAUSE PEOPLE OF COLOR DON’T GET PRIOR WARNING AND THEY DON’T GET TO OPT OUT.

You’re just making up a HYPOTHETICAL triggered, abused white woman and wielding your empathy and your “social justice” terms on her behalf. Projection much????? Of course the only person you see fit to identify with in this video and this whole conversation is a white woman. How about you wait until your defensiveness ebbs and reconsider the video from a frame of mind that isn’t so self-invested?

You keep going on about how bad “social justice” wise it is to invalidate people’s pain, nobody should ever invalidate another person’s pain. Guess what? “Social Justice” isn’t ABOUT validating your feelings! Validating your feelings is not a vital component of any movement for justice anywhere. And ending racism REALLY REALLY REALLY isn’t about Black women validating your feelings or this woman’s feelings as white women! Can you see how twisted you made this??? If you want your feelings validated, go ask your friends. Let me say that again: If you want your feelings validated, GO ASK YOUR FRIENDS.

I’m sorry. I really didn’t understand a lot of the context, I guess I interpreted it as people mocking someone for crying? The last thing I want to do is derail an important discussion. Again, I’m sorry. I really hope I didn’t trigger anyone. Dx

I’m glad that you directed that half-hearted apology (and subsequent lack of acknowledgement about the damage of your actions) to someone OTHER than the women of color whose discussion you derailed.

Thanks. I guess.

Please take this lil bullshit apology and shove it as far up your rancid ass as you can.
